The Unsung Lady : A Mother

It “As we grow up, we forget that our parents are growing old too.”
Relationships are often misunderstood, they are taken up as responsibilities and with pressure. The true purpose of relationships is to fill up our lives with love, care, faith and trust. We all enter this world in a similar manner, just the way we are moulded differs. The ones who mould us are our parents, friends and teachers. Our parents sacrifice their happiness for our’s and in return what we give them is abandonment, we simply disown them at that point of their lives when they need us the most.  They can be irritating but they are our parents and not to forget the fact that whatever we are today is all because of them.
A mother is that lady who knows her child in and out. My mother has given me my identity. She is the one who has supported me through all my decisions and through all my sufferings I wasn’t alone, always by my side i found silent but strong.  I believe in love at first sight, cause when i first opened my eyes, I saw my mother. That was the only day when she smiled and I cried. A mother’s heart is overfilled with tender care and love. She has always taught me to love life and live each day in the best possible way.
My mother has taught me to never give up, be it the first time I got my cycle  or the time I spilt the water on my assignments a day prior to the submission. Through thick and thin, she has taught me to get up and fight through all my problems. When i first got my cycle, in conjecture, I tried riding it but to my horror I failed and so I gave up. But my mother didn’t, instead she told me a simple thing which still has its imprint in my heart. She told me that failure is a part of life and the ones who do not fail, they do not succeed either. These words instilled a spark within me and I kept on trying and by my side was this lady, who soaked in sweat and dreaded but still was there supporting and encouraging me. Now when I look back to that day I realise that she stood there and taught me to trust myself and to face my problems.
“If you can’t fly, then run
If you can’t run, then walk
If you can’t walk, then crawl
Just remember you are moving ahead.”
Beautifully quoted by Martin Luther King Jr. We need to move ahead, with pride and courage. We always need to have the courage and determination to acquire our dreams. Problems cannot be solved with the same thought when they were created. It is not important what you have, but what you do with what you have is more important. If we have dreamt of something then come what may, we should never step aback. My mother has taught about selflessness, she has taught me the true meaning of relationships, she has taught me what the word really stands for. I have seen her struggling, I have seen her sacrificing her dreams and her career for her child, I have seen her get abused for my faults, I have heard her sobbing but unfortunately I couldn’t turn any of those frowns into a smile, I couldn’t preserve those precious tears which were never meant to flow from those beautiful eyes, i couldn’t stand up for her and help her and for this I am ashamed of myself. She taught me about life,  wish I could teach her not to be selfless, not to suffer, not to sacrifice. I wish …..
My only dream in life is to be worthy enough to make her happy. Though I cannot reciprocate for all the moments she has lost her happiness, but i dream to  give her all the happiness in the world, because she deserves it. Not only she, but all the mothers in the world deserve it. Why can’t we notice and appreciate the treasure we have, our mothers. It takes someone really brave to be a mother, someone strong to raise a child and someone special to love someone more than herself. A mother is emotional, yet the rock. Tired, but keeps going.  Worried, but full of hopes. Impatient, yet patient. Overwhelmed, but never quits. Amazing, even though doubted.
